A private “Legacy Commission” for a 60th birthday, a surprise from his wife. The painting was revealed at his surprise 60th birthday party aboard the Midway Aircraft carrier museum next to the Grumman S-2 Tracker that bears his name on the cockpit. Text used is the famous High Flight poem by John Gillespie Magee Jr.
